Toni Hawkins Senior Psychologist

Hello, I’m Toni, a psychologist working at Psyche Mental Health Centre. I graduated from Deakin University, Melbourne in 2010 and have been working solely in mental health for the past 7 years, with a background in working in disability, aged care, and additional needs schools for 12 years prior to pursuing mental health. I have been lucky enough to live and work in many of Australia’s states and territories, and also spent a few years living and working in the UK; and now I feel very lucky to call Tasmania home.

I have a passion for working with young people and adults, and specific interests in trauma, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), personality disorders, individuals questioning or identifying as gender and/or sexually diverse, depression, anxiety, and grief and loss.

I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is compassionate, genuine, creative, relaxed and fun, with a focus on your needs, goals, and aspirations. I use a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy.

Outside of work you will find me walking my 2 cheeky pups on the beach, attempting a home DIY project, or taking in the beauty of Tasmania. I adore art and music despite having no talent in these areas, and love animals and travel.
